Kinetic E-Luna New Design Patented: What’s Changing in the Electric Moped?

2 Min Read

The Kinetic E-Luna, launched in early 2024, is getting an update! The company has patented a new design that retains the overall look but introduces a few key upgrades, including alloy wheels for tubeless tyres and a potential storage box. Here’s what to expect from the updated model.

Kinetic E-Luna’s New Design Patent: What’s New?

1. Additional Storage Box for More Practicality

A major addition in the new design is a triangular hump in the central tunnel, likely an integrated storage unit. This will enhance the moped’s practicality, especially for users relying on it for deliveries or daily commuting. If detachable, it could add to its convenience factor.

2. Alloy Wheels & Tubeless Tyres

The updated E-Luna is set to receive alloy wheels, replacing the spoke wheels of the outgoing model. This upgrade will allow for tubeless tyres, enhancing durability and reducing maintenance costs.

3. No Major Design Overhaul

Despite these changes, the overall aesthetics remain consistent with the current model. It will continue featuring the round halogen headlight in a square casing and an LCD speedometer.

Will There Be a Removable Battery Pack?

There is speculation about an additional removable battery pack, but this seems unlikely as it would increase costs significantly.

Current Pricing & Expected Cost Increase

The Kinetic E-Luna is currently available in two variants:

  • E-Luna X2 – 2kWh battery pack
  • E-Luna X3 – 2.3kWh battery pack

Prices range from Rs 69,990 to Rs 82,490. Given the addition of alloy wheels and a storage box, a slight price hike is expected when the updated version launches.

When Will Kinetic Green Launch the Updated E-Luna?

The company has yet to announce an official launch date. However, with the design now patented, it is likely to be introduced in the coming months.
