Toyota has previewed the Hilux Rangga SUV, which is set to launch in Indonesia next year. This SUV will be based on the Hilux Rangga pickup. The body of the Hilux Rangga SUV will be crafted by an aftermarket coach builder, with the final product to be sold under the Toyota brand.

The Hilux Rangga SUV will share its platform with the Hilux Rangga pickup, utilizing the IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) platform, similar to the Innova Crysta and Fortuner. It is expected to feature a versatile 7-seater layout with multiple seating options, including a conventional rear door configuration.

Features and Powertrain

The Hilux Rangga SUV, previewed as a concept, is likely to retain its pickup’s powertrain setup, which includes a RWD configuration. Engine options will likely include a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.4-litre turbo diesel, available with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. The SUV will come equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning, a touchscreen infotainment system, and dual front airbags.
