Skoda has officially launched the second-generation Kodiaq in India with a starting price of ₹46.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Kodiaq is available in two trims – Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K) – and continues to be locally assembled in India. With a more refined design, powerful turbo-petrol engine, and feature-rich interiors, the 2025 Kodiaq aims to set new benchmarks in the premium SUV segment.

  • Sportline: ₹46.89 lakh
  • Laurin & Klement (L&K): ₹48.69 lakh

Bookings for the new Kodiaq are now open, and deliveries will begin from May 2, 2025.


Design: Evolution, Not Revolution

The new Kodiaq brings evolutionary design changes with a smoother, more rounded appearance compared to the sharper lines of its predecessor. The SUV retains the split headlamp design but adds a fresh LED DRL signature that extends into the grille. Other highlights include:

  • New power bulges on the bonnet
  • Functional air vents on the bumper
  • 59mm increase in overall length, though the wheelbase remains at 2,791mm
  • Redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels and contrasting D-pillar (L&K)

The Sportline trim stands out with a blacked-out grille, mirrors, D-pillar and a sportier alloy design.

The overall length is up by 59mm. 

Interior: Modern, Premium, and Practical

The cabin sees a complete redesign with a winged dashboard layout and a focus on user-friendly tech:

  • 13-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system
  • Three physical rotary dials for HVAC with integrated displays
  • 10-inch digital driver’s display with navigation
  • Two-spoke steering wheel (three-spoke on Sportline)
  • Sliding and reclining second-row seats for better comfort

The 2025 Kodiaq comes packed with premium features across both trims:

Engine and Performance

Powering the new Kodiaq is a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that now produces 204hp and 320Nm of torque, marking a 14hp increase over the previous model. Key specs include:

  • 7-speed DCT gearbox
  • Standard all-wheel drive (AWD)
  • ARAI-rated fuel efficiency: 14.86kpl

Notably, the new Kodiaq misses out on Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), which was available earlier.

Skoda Kodiaq 2025: Rivals in India

The new Kodiaq competes in the 7-seat midsize premium SUV category. Rivals include:

  • Jeep Meridian
  • Nissan X-Trail
  • Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line (5-seater)
  • Citroen C5 Aircross (5-seater)
  • Hyundai Tucson (5-seater)

Despite being a 7-seater, it faces stiff competition from well-equipped 5-seaters in the same price bracket.
