Skoda Elroq RS Teaser Released Before April 3 Debut

4 Min Read

Skoda Auto has unveiled a teaser video for the upcoming Elroq RS, the sportier iteration of its electric SUV. The video offers a sneak peek at both the exterior and interior. The global debut is scheduled for April 3, 2025, and will be streamed on Skoda’s YouTube channel.

Exterior Highlights

The Elroq RS stands out with RS-specific design elements, including a signature Hyper Green paint previously seen on the new Octavia RS. Distinctive features include a redesigned front bumper, blacked-out ‘SKODA’ lettermark, black roof rails, ORVMs, and RS badging located above the front fenders. The tail-lights feature a ‘Skoda Crystal Lighting’ engraving, further setting it apart from the standard model.

Alloy Wheels

The SUV rides on aero-optimised alloy wheels, similar to those seen on the Vision 7S concept. These 21-inch wheels feature a body-coloured strip integrated into the design. While these wheels are also available on standard Elroq variants, the RS version pairs them with a more aggressive stance.

Interior Details

Inside, the Elroq RS features sporty seats and RS badging on the steering wheel, in line with the brand’s RS sub-brand aesthetics. Although other cabin details are under wraps, we can expect typical RS elements like a dark headliner and performance-style seating. Carryover features from standard variants may include a 13-inch infotainment screen, head-up display, ambient lighting, and wireless phone charging.

Battery and Performance

While technical details remain unconfirmed, the Elroq RS is likely to be offered exclusively with the top-tier 85kWh battery pack—the same seen in the Enyaq RS. If it follows suit, it may feature a 326hp rear-wheel-drive motor, placing it just below the 339hp AWD Enyaq RS. Although the standard Elroq 85 offers over 560km of range (WLTP), the RS version might have slightly less due to its performance enhancements.

India Launch Plans

Skoda India is considering launching its first EV by September 2025, with the Enyaq, Enyaq Coupe, and Elroq under review. However, there’s no confirmation yet on whether the Elroq RS will make it to Indian shores. That said, Enyaq and Elroq models have been showcased at Indian Auto Expos, and the Enyaq has even been spotted testing on local roads. While no RS model is currently sold in India, Skoda is set to change that with the fully imported Octavia RS expected soon.

Conclusion

The Skoda Elroq RS emerges as a bold step forward in the brand’s electric journey, combining dynamic RS styling with advanced EV technology. With exclusive design touches, sportier interiors, and a potential high-performance powertrain, it promises to be the most spirited version of the Elroq yet. While its India entry remains uncertain, its global debut on April 3 will offer a clearer picture of what this electrified RS badge truly brings to the table. For now, it stands as a compelling showcase of Skoda’s performance-focused electric future.
