Nissan Unveils First Look at the 2024 Magnite Facelift—You Won’t Believe Your Eyes

4 Min Read

Nissan India has released the first look with a teaser for the upcoming 2024 Magnite facelift, set to launch on October 4. While the teaser reveals little, we do catch a glimpse of the new alloy wheels. This facelifted Magnite marks the beginning of Nissan’s strategy to introduce four new vehicles in the Indian market.

Design Expectations

The sub-4-metre SUV was previously seen testing under heavy camouflage, making it difficult to gather details. This facelift represents the Magnite’s first significant update since its launch in India. We anticipate subtle design tweaks, particularly with the exterior, while retaining the overall silhouette. Expect a new grille, updated lighting elements, and a revised rear bumper featuring fresh design aspects. Additionally, Nissan may introduce new color options to its lineup.

Interior Features

Inside, we don’t foresee major changes but expect several updates to keep pace with competitors. Anticipated enhancements include a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver’s display, alongside features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, keyless entry, a wireless phone charger, an air purifier, and a rear parking camera. The safety features may be upgraded, potentially adding six airbags while retaining standard features such as ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), and rear parking sensors.

Powertrain Details

Mechanically, we expect no changes to the Magnite’s powertrain. It will continue with the same 1-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque, as well as a more powerful 1-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 100 PS and up to 160 Nm. The former will offer a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT, while the latter can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

Pricing and Competitors

Currently, the Magnite is priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 11.27 lakh (ex-showroom), and we can expect a slight price increase with the facelifted model. It will compete with other SUVs in the market, including the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, and Mahindra XUV 3OO.
