However, the centerpiece of Wednesday’s launch was the Tata Curvv .ev, featuring fast charging capabilities that provide a 150 km range in just 15 minutes using a charger greater than 70W, which can be located via the IRA app from Tata Motors. The car also boasts a top speed of 160 kmph and accelerates from 0 to 100 in 8.6 seconds.

Interior Features

The interior of the Tata Curvv .ev showcases premium materials and craftsmanship, surpassing previous models. The spacious cabin is equipped with ventilated front seats, a smart digital steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen.

Range and Battery Performance

For electric vehicle buyers, range is a crucial consideration, and Tata Motors addresses this by providing estimated real-world ranges for both battery options.

  • 45kWh Battery: Expected to offer a range of 330 to 350 kilometers on a single charge.
  • 55kWh Battery: Estimated real-world range of 400 to 425 kilometers.

Storage and Boot Space

The Tata Curvv features a generous boot space, starting with a base capacity of 500 liters, which can be expanded to a substantial 973 liters by folding down the 60:40 split rear seats. The electronic tailgate with gesture control, available in higher-end variants, adds a premium touch.

The Curvv .ev also offers additional storage in the frunk (front trunk) for smaller items.

Safety Features

Safety is a priority with the Tata Curvv, which comes standard with six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, and a host of other features like LED headlamps, flush door handles, power windows, and multi-drive modes.

To enhance pedestrian safety, the Curvv is equipped with an AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alert System), which emits soft sound alerts in crowded areas at speeds up to 20 km/h.

The top-end versions also feature ADAS 2 for added safety.

ICE Variant and Design Differences

Also showcased at the launch was the ICE variant of the Tata Curvv, which will be released on September 2.

The main visual differences between the ICE and EV versions are seen in the front grille and alloy wheel designs. The interiors of both variants are similar, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch MID cluster, with the primary difference being the interior color schemes.

Interior Space and Special Features

The Tata Curvv offers ample interior space with generous legroom for all passengers. The top variants of both the ICE and EV models are equipped with a panoramic sunroof.

Continuing its tradition of challenging terrains, Tata Motors took the Tata Curvv .ev on a climb to Sandakphu, 11,930 feet above sea level, following a similar path as the Tata Punch.
