Manufacturing and Assembly
The VLF Tennis is assembled at KAW Veloce Motors’ Kolhapur facility, which has an annual production capacity of 20,000 units. This local assembly ensures efficient distribution and service availability across India.

Design and Dimensions
Weighing just 88 kg, the VLF Tennis boasts a lightweight frame complemented by 12-inch wheels and an aluminium swing arm. The scooter features a seat height of 780 mm and a ground clearance of 140 mm, offering a balanced ride height and stability. However, its compact build limits underseat storage to accommodating only a half-face helmet.

Performance and Specifications
The VLF Tennis is powered by a 1.5 kW hub motor capable of a top speed of 65 kmph. It is equipped with a removable 2.5 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 130 km (IDC). Its gradeability is rated at 18 degrees, and it operates efficiently in temperatures ranging from -5°C to 45°C.

Charging and Features
A bundled 720-watt charger fully recharges the scooter in approximately three hours. Other highlights include LED lights, a 5-inch color TFT dashboard, telescopic front forks, a cantilevered monoshock for the rear suspension, and disc brakes on both wheels, ensuring safety and comfort.

Competition and Comparison
Priced higher than competitors like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Vida V1, and Ather 450X, the VLF Tennis justifies its cost with a premium build, lightweight design, and removable battery for added convenience. However, its smaller battery might be a consideration for buyers comparing range and performance.

Conclusion

The VLF Tennis electric scooter makes a bold entry into India’s growing EV market, offering a unique blend of lightweight design, removable battery convenience, and advanced features like a TFT dashboard and LED lighting. While priced higher than some competitors, its compact build, Italian craftsmanship, and promise of local support through KAW Veloce Motors’ expanding dealership network make it a compelling choice for urban commuters seeking style, performance, and practicality in an eco-friendly package.
