BMW F 450 GS ADV India Launch: What to Expect from the New Adventure Bike

3 Min Read

BMW Motorrad recently hinted at the launch of the F 450 GS through an Instagram teaser. The post featured an image carousel with the caption, “Dreams are coming true soon – prepare for the #ConceptF450GS at the end of the year.” This suggests that the production-ready version could be unveiled at EICMA later this year. The pricing details and deliveries are expected to follow in early 2026.

Design

The F 450 GS concept was first revealed at EICMA 2024, showcasing an aggressive design with sharp bodywork. Although it was a concept model, it appeared quite close to production. Its styling draws inspiration from BMW’s larger adventure motorcycle, the 1300 GS, giving it a rugged and premium look.

Engine & Performance

At its heart, the F 450 GS will feature a 450cc parallel-twin engine delivering 48PS. The bike is expected to weigh around 175kg, which, combined with its twin-cylinder setup, should ensure refined performance and better cruising capabilities than the BMW G 310 GS. The additional cylinder will also contribute to improved highway stability and overall ride comfort.

Underpinnings & Features

True to its GS lineage, the F 450 GS will come with long-travel suspension, enhancing its adventure touring capabilities. It is expected to feature a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear, with the possibility of cross-spoke or alloy options. The bike will also offer ample ground clearance while maintaining an accessible seat height. While BMW has not revealed full technical specifications yet, more details should emerge closer to its launch.

Manufacturing & Expected Pricing

The production of the F 450 GS will take place in India at TVS’s Hosur facility. BMW has followed a similar approach with its 310 series, ensuring localized manufacturing while maintaining its premium brand appeal. The bike is expected to be priced around ₹5 lakh (ex-showroom), which aligns with BMW’s premium pricing strategy. Once launched, it will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Honda NX 500, and the upcoming Hero XPulse 421.

Conclusion

With its sharp design, refined twin-cylinder engine, and adventure-ready setup, the BMW F 450 GS is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the mid-capacity ADV segment. While its expected price tag places it in the premium category, BMW’s strong brand value and the bike’s promising performance may justify the cost. If you’re looking for a capable adventure tourer with a premium badge, the F 450 GS might be worth the wait.
