Bajaj Chetak 35 Series Launched: Features, Price, and Tech Upgrade

5 Min Read

Bajaj has launched the new Chetak 35 Series electric scooter in India, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor. Priced from Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), the Chetak 35 Series offers a range of improvements including a larger battery, more advanced tech, and enhanced storage space. This blog will explore all the key features of this updated electric scooter.

All about Bajaj Chetak 35 Series

Bigger Battery, Longer Range

One of the most significant updates to the Chetak 35 Series is the increase in battery capacity. The new scooter comes with a 3.5 kWh battery pack, up from the 3.2 kWh unit in the previous model. This larger battery enables a claimed range of up to 153 km on a full charge, compared to the 137 km range of the older model. The enhanced powertrain efficiency is thanks to the integration of a new generation electric motor and motor controller.

Revised Frame and Increased Storage Capacity

While the design of the Chetak 35 Series remains largely the same, Bajaj has redesigned the frame, which now features a longer wheelbase. The repositioning of the battery beneath the floor instead of under the seat has freed up more space for under-seat storage. The new under-seat storage capacity is now 35 liters, an improvement over the 21 liters offered in the previous model. This update provides more space for your belongings, making the scooter more practical for daily use.

Comfortable Ride with Extra Seat Space

Bajaj has also improved the rider and pillion comfort. The seat has been extended by 80 mm, now measuring 725 mm, providing more space and comfort for both riders. This change is especially noticeable on longer rides, as the scooter accommodates a wider range of body types with greater ease.

Tech Upgrades for a Modern Riding Experience

The Chetak 35 Series comes equipped with modern tech features. The 3501 variant boasts a new TFT touchscreen display, offering an advanced instrument cluster with built-in navigation from Mappls. The display also supports smartphone connectivity, enabling you to accept or decline calls, control music, and access other features on the go. The 3502 variant, however, comes with a more basic, non-touchscreen display. Additionally, Bajaj has added features like on-board storage for digital documents and connected features like remote immobilization, overspeed alert, and accident detection. Some of these features are part of an add-on TecPac package.

Bajaj Chetak 35 Series – Variant Breakdown

The Chetak 35 Series is available in three variants:

  • 3501: Priced at Rs 1.27 lakh, this is the top-of-the-line model, offering the full suite of features, including the TFT touchscreen display and smartphone connectivity.
  • 3502: Priced at Rs 1.20 lakh, this is a more affordable variant with fewer features, including a non-touchscreen display and no onboard charger.
  • 3503: This variant will be launched at a later date and will offer a more cost-effective option with features like integrated motor controllers and the absence of disc brakes.
