Niranjan Gupta’s Tenure at Hero MotoCorp
Niranjan Gupta joined Hero MotoCorp in 2017 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) before being promoted to CEO in May 2023. Under his leadership, Hero MotoCorp strengthened its financial standing, forged global alliances, and introduced strategic initiatives for future growth. One of the major highlights of his tenure was the launch of the Hero Mavrick 440 and Harley-Davidson X440, a result of Hero’s partnership with the American motorcycle giant. Additionally, Hero MotoCorp confirmed its plans in December 2024 to co-develop another new motorcycle with Harley-Davidson.
Statements from Hero MotoCorp Leadership
Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, acknowledged Gupta’s contributions, stating: “Since joining Hero in 2017, Niranjan has strengthened our financial resilience, forged global alliances, and laid the foundation for the House of Strategy that defines our future growth journey. His leadership has been pivotal in steering the company towards new frontiers. I wish him the very best and all the success for his future.”
Vikram Kasbekar to Take Over as Acting CEO
As Hero MotoCorp embarks on a leadership transition, Vikram Kasbekar will step in as the acting CEO. Kasbekar is an industry veteran with vast experience in Research & Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering. He will oversee the company’s operations and leadership team until a permanent CEO is appointed.
What’s Next for Hero MotoCorp?
With this transition, Hero MotoCorp aims to maintain stability and continue its ambitious plans for innovation and global expansion. The company is actively working on strengthening its presence in the premium motorcycle segment and enhancing collaborations with global brands like Harley-Davidson.
As the two-wheeler giant gears up for a new chapter, the industry will be watching closely to see who takes the helm permanently and how Hero MotoCorp continues its growth trajectory.
