Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the AMG CLE 53 will debut in India by late 2025. First unveiled in December 2023, the CLE 53 comes with refreshed styling and enhanced performance, replacing the outgoing E 53 coupe. While the CLE 53 AMG convertible is available in international markets, it is still unclear whether India will get the coupe or the convertible variant.
Performance Highlights
The CLE 53 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine producing 449hp and 600Nm of torque. Paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, it delivers an additional 40Nm with Overboost. The car accelerates from 0-100kph in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250kph, which can be increased to 270kph with the optional AMG Driver’s Package. Designed to rival the BMW M2 Competition, the CLE 53 is set to make its mark in the high-performance coupe segment.
Exterior Design
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 boasts an assertive design, featuring the signature Panamericana grille and sleeker LED headlamps with dynamic Daytime Running Lamps. A large air intake below the grille and smaller intakes on the sides improve airflow. The coupe’s long bonnet, raked windshield, and flared wheel arches enhance its aggressive stance. The rear features quad exhausts integrated into the diffuser, along with two-part LED tail-lights connected without a light bar.
Wheel and Suspension
The CLE 53 offers 19-inch alloy wheels as standard, with the option to upgrade to 20-inch alloys. The track width is wider by 58mm at the front and 75mm at the rear compared to the standard CLE, improving handling and road presence. Rear-wheel steering further enhances agility, turning up to 0.7 degrees in the direction of the front wheels at speeds above 100kph.
