Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e Global Debut
BE 6e: A Bold New Offering in the Electric SUV Segment
The BE 6e will sit above Mahindra’s XUV400 electric SUV and will rival other popular electric SUVs such as the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and the Maruti eVX. Spy shots reveal that the BE 6e will maintain the radical design elements of its concept version, including a sleek, futuristic look with a focus on road presence and tech features.
This SUV is expected to offer two battery options: 60kWh and 79kWh. The 79kWh variant is expected to provide a range of around 450 km on a single charge, making it a strong competitor in terms of range and performance. Both RWD and AWD variants are expected, giving buyers flexibility depending on their driving needs.
In terms of dimensions, the BE 6e will likely be 4,370mm long, 1,900mm wide, and 1,635mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. These measurements put it in a similar size range to the Maruti eVX, ensuring ample cabin space and comfort for passengers.
XEV 9e: A Coupe SUV with Style and Practicality
The XEV 9e, Mahindra’s all-electric coupe SUV, will cater to executives looking for an electric SUV that offers a stylish and practical driving experience. This model will share its battery pack and powertrain with the BE 6e but will be offered only in RWD form. The XEV 9e’s standout feature will be its three-screen display, which will include a dedicated screen for the front passenger, enhancing the overall user experience.
The cabin is expected to borrow design elements from the popular XUV700, providing a familiar yet modern interior. While the XEV 9e doesn’t have direct rivals at launch, its price point will put it in competition with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
What’s Next for Mahindra’s Electric Future?
Mahindra’s foray into the electric vehicle market with the BE and XEV ranges marks a significant shift toward sustainable and tech-forward mobility. As more details emerge in the coming days, the automotive world eagerly anticipates the global debut of these revolutionary electric SUVs. The BE 6e and XEV 9e are expected to set new standards in electric SUV design and performance, and Mahindra is poised to make a strong impact in the global EV market.
