Royal Enfield has confirmed that the Interceptor Bear 650 will have its global debut on November 5, 2024. This announcement was part of a teaser video showcasing the motorcycle, which recently had images leaked online. The teaser briefly features the bike being ridden on a dirt track before transitioning to the company logo and the reveal date.
Design Features
The new Interceptor Bear 650 will share many characteristics with the standard Interceptor 650, but leaked images indicate some significant design modifications. The Bear 650 will feature shorter fenders, a redesigned seat, new side panels, and a compact 2-into-1 exhaust. Additionally, it appears to replace the Interceptor 650’s twin-pod gauge cluster with a larger single unit, similar to those found in Royal Enfield’s new 450 range. The leaked images also revealed that the motorcycle is equipped with dual-purpose tyres.

Powertrain and Performance
In terms of power, the Bear 650 will utilize the same 648 cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine as the rest of Royal Enfield’s 650 cc lineup. This engine is expected to deliver 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. However, it is anticipated that Royal Enfield will adjust the powertrain’s performance to align more closely with the model’s scrambler capabilities.
Suspension and Braking
The Interceptor Bear 650 will maintain a USD front fork and twin shocks at the rear, with both expected to offer increased suspension travel. The motorcycle will also feature wire-spoke wheels and disc brakes at both the front and rear.
Pricing and Future Models
Pricing for the Bear 650 is anticipated to fall between the Continental GT 650 and the Shotgun 650, estimated at around ₹3.4 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is expected to be launched in India during Royal Enfield’s Motoverse 2024 event.
In addition to the Bear 650, Royal Enfield is actively developing several new or updated models that are set to be unveiled in the coming months. The company is preparing to introduce its first all-electric motorcycle at EICMA 2024 and is also working on updates for existing models like the Interceptor 650 and the Hunter 350.
