KTM has officially teased the much-anticipated 390 Enduro R on its social media channels, signalling its imminent India launch. After making a splash at EICMA 2024 and India Bike Week 2024, the rugged dual-sport motorcycle is finally making its way to Indian showrooms.
KTM 390 Enduro R
Same Engine, Rugged Soul
The KTM 390 Enduro R shares its 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder LC4c engine with the 390 Adventure and the new 390 Duke. It churns out 46hp and 39Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox, offering plenty of grunt for both road and trail.
Purpose-Built Off-Roader
Where it really stands apart is in its true off-road focus.
- It runs 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in off-road biased tyres
- It offers 230mm of suspension travel at both ends via a USD fork and monoshock
- It boasts an incredible ground clearance of 272mm
- However, the seat height is a lofty 890mm, which could be challenging for shorter riders
Despite its tall stance, it maintains a relatively low weight at 159kg, making it 6kg lighter than the 390 Duke and 7kg lighter than the 390 Adventure X (wet, no fuel).
Brakes, Frame & Features
The bike is built on a steel trellis frame and features a minimalist body design, staying true to enduro styling. Braking duties are managed by:
- A 285mm disc with axially mounted caliper at the front
- A 240mm rear disc
- With switchable dual-channel ABS for off-road precision
Launch Timeline & First Ride Review of KTM 390 Enduro R
KTM hasn’t officially confirmed the launch date yet, but the teaser suggests it’s just around the corner. Autocar India has also announced that their first ride review of the 390 Enduro R will go live on April 12 at 10 AM IST—a key date for off-road fans to mark.
Conclusion: A New Era for Indian Trail Riding
With the 390 Enduro R, KTM is taking its off-road game a notch higher in India. Its blend of performance, weight reduction, and proper dirt-spec hardware makes it a serious contender for those looking to hit the trails. If priced competitively, this could become the go-to choice for adventure seekers in India.
