All about Kawasaki Versys 1100
Design and Variant Details
The Versys 1100 retains the familiar design language of its predecessor while incorporating some notable upgrades. It is available in a single variant and a dual-tone color scheme – Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray / Metallic Diablo Black.
Powerful 1099cc Engine and Performance Upgrades
One of the biggest highlights of the new Versys 1100 is its 1099cc in-line four-cylinder engine, which produces 133 bhp at 9000 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 7600 rpm. This marks a significant upgrade from the previous Versys 1000’s 1043cc engine. Kawasaki claims that the new engine delivers improved torque across the rev range while also being more fuel-efficient, thanks to revised engine components and a lower rpm limit.
The 6-speed gearbox has also been reworked, featuring longer fifth and sixth gears for better mileage. Riders also have the option of adding a Kawasaki Quick Shifter for seamless gear transitions.
Suspension and Braking System
The Versys 1100 continues to use an upgraded suspension setup similar to its predecessor. It features a 43mm USD fork with pre-load adjustment at the front and a gas-charged monoshock with pre-load and rebound adjustment at the rear. The braking system consists of twin 310mm discs with 4-piston calipers at the front and a 250mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear, ensuring superior stopping power.
Advanced Features and Touring Enhancements
Kawasaki has equipped the Versys 1100 with a range of advanced features to enhance ride comfort and safety. Key highlights include:
- Multiple ride modes for different terrains and riding conditions
- Cornering management function for improved handling
- Kawasaki Intelligent ABS (KIBS) for enhanced braking safety
- Selectable traction control and power modes
- USB Type-C charging port for added convenience
- Adjustable windshield that does not require tools for customization
Customization and Accessories
To enhance touring capabilities, Kawasaki is offering a range of accessories for the Versys 1100. Buyers can choose from add-ons such as panniers, top boxes, engine guards, heated grips, and auxiliary lights to personalize their ride.
Conclusion: A Premium Touring Adventure Bike
The Kawasaki Versys 1100 is set to make a strong impact in India’s adventure-touring segment. With its powerful 1099cc engine, premium features, and touring-friendly design, it offers a compelling choice for riders seeking performance and comfort. Priced at Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom), it competes against other premium adventure-tourers in the Indian market.
